What are the differences between the 28khz and 40khz Super Ultrasonic cleaning m

Before understanding the frequency differences between 28khz and 40khz of ultrasonic cleaners, let's first understand what these two parameters mean respectively: 28KHz refers to 28,000 vibrations per minute; 40KHz refers to a vibration frequency of 40,000 times per minute. Frequency is a major factor in choosing an ultrasonic cleaner, and it also determines the cleaning intensity. Generally speaking, cleaning machines with a frequency of 28KHZ are mostly used in industries such as hardware, machinery, automobiles and motorcycles, and compressors. Optical and optoelectronic cleaning, circuit board cleaning, etc. mostly adopt a frequency of 40KHZ.

Everyone knows that the basic principle of ultrasonic cleaning is based on the cavitation effect of liquids. In fact, the intensity of the cavitation effect is directly related to the frequency. The higher the frequency, the smaller the cavitation bubbles and the weaker the cavitation intensity. Moreover, it has strong high-frequency penetration and is suitable for cleaning precision parts, such as electronic components, magnetic materials, and small bearing processing. Those with integrated circuit chips and silicon wafer coatings use ultrasonic cleaning machines with higher frequencies. Large workpieces like the engines and valves of motor vehicles are generally cleaned with low-frequency ultrasonic cleaners, and the relatively moderate frequency used in the market is 40KHZ. The lower the ultrasonic frequency is, the easier it is to generate cavitation in the liquid and the stronger the effect will be. The higher the frequency, the stronger the directionality of ultrasonic waves, which is suitable for cleaning delicate objects.

Is a 40khz ultrasonic cleaner more powerful in cleaning than a 28khz one?

This is a wrong statement. On the contrary, the lower the frequency, the stronger the cleaning power and the better the cleaning effect. However, it still depends on the items to be cleaned. For most products, a frequency of 40Khz is sufficient. At a low frequency of 28khz, the time interval for the cleaning liquid to be subjected to compression and thinning is longer, allowing bubbles to grow to a larger size and exerting a stronger force on the surface of the workpiece to be cleaned. Therefore, for the surfaces of large components or parts with a high degree of adhesion between dirt and the workpiece surface, low-frequency ultrasonic cleaning machines are usually chosen. However, low frequencies are more likely to damage and corrode the surface of the workpiece, so for parts with high surface requirements, it is not advisable to choose lower frequencies.
